Interlude in Connecticut 2

“Why?” she asked.

“I can’t say, Maria.”

“But, Tony, I–”

I cut her off and walked out of the room. Something didn’t feel right, I didn’t trust her. I decided to hold fire, lay low and keep an eye on developments. Luckily, Brady had come to the office and was checking some information on the Hartford job with Barry. They called me as I passed them and asked me to sit in with them to help figure it out.

“Tony, Brady is looking for information on these,” Barry said pointing at his computer screen, “do you have a few minutes to spare?”

“Sure. Hi Brady,” I said and pulled up a chair beside them.

Brady had a few sheets of paper in his hand. He placed the Program Schedule on the desk and asked us to explain it. I looked at him to see if he was joking. When it became obvious that he wasn’t, I leaned forward and pulled it up on the screen. Brady and Barry sat up straight to listen.

“Ok. This schedule is set up for a project that is fourteen weeks in duration. If you notice, there are fourteen columns marked Week 1 to Week 14 in the header row across the top,” I began.

The two lads nodded their understanding.
