I took a short step backwards and Lillian took my hand.
“Ruth tells me great things about you, Tony. I will help refine your knowledge and techniques further. Are you happy to proceed with me?” she said as I detected a slight northern Irish accent.
I looked at Ruth, she signified agreement with a nod. I looked Lillian in the eye.
“Yes, Lillian. What do we need to do?”
“I have taken a place in Leeson Street for a week,” she said. “As you can probably tell from my accent, I’m not from Dublin.”
“I can tell, Lillian. I like your accent.”
“Thank you, Tony. What’s your schedule like, timewise? I’m available to you at all times, you just let me know when and I’ll facilitate you,” she said, “morning, noon or night.”
“I work just around the corner from Leeson Street in Fitzwilliam Street. I start at nine o’clock and finish at five with an hour for lunch. I have weekends off too.”
“Very good. Does tomorrow at ten o’clock suit?” she asked. “We can get a lot done without interruption.”
